WHAT TO DO
So what is there to do at Rhyll? Well for a start, there's the Outback Chef's Wild Food Farm and homestead style cafe right opposite our front gate. Down by the water you'll discover a tavern and a pier. Take a stroll in the bay breeze and enjoy a meal in whichever order you prefer. Venture a little further and you'll find the bustling marine supply shop, crammed with shiny boats small, medium and massive... for sale or hire if you fancy going fishing. Cross the road and watch the boat launching action at the Rhyll boat ramp and pontoon complete with a mob of resident pelicans and black swans gliding around the sandy shallows. A few steps west of the Anglers' Club you'll find the slipway with lots of enthusiasts messing around with boats.
A couple of fabulous local eateries cover the spectrum from breakfast to dinner. The Seaside Cafe has great bay views to go with your breakfast or lunch, Tides Licenced Fish and Chips has possibiy the best fish and chips in the known universe, the Foreshore Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, book a table on their balcony and watch the full moon rise over the bay. We even have a local vineyard facing Western Port Bay, the Purple Hen Winery, open for tastings and platters. And that's it. The rest is all nature's work... lush mangroves, golden sandbars and teeming birdlife along the length and breadth of the Rhyll Inlet State Wildlife Reserve.
